Microsoft has delivered the capability for Visual Basic developers to create Windows Phone 7 applications.

On Sept. 23, Microsoft released the CTP (Community Technology Preview) of Microsoft Visual Basic for Windows Phone Developer Tools. This CTP enables Visual Basic developers to create Windows Phone 7 applications with the final version of the Windows Phone Developer Tools.

In a Sept. 23 blog post, S. “Soma” Somasegar, senior vice president of the Microsoft Developer Division, said, “Starting today, you can download Microsoft Visual Basic CTP for Windows Phone Developer Tools. This is a great milestone as it enables our Visual Basic developers to be able to build applications for Windows Phone."

Somasegar said applications built using the CTP run on both the emulator and the phone. “To try the CTP, you'll need the final version of Windows Phone Developer Tools and Visual Studio 2010 Professional or higher. If you don't have Visual Studio 2010 Professional, you can install the free trial of Visual Studio Professional,” Somasegar said.

The CTP includes Visual Studio 2010 project templates, item templates, designer support, emulator support, debugging and IntelliSense for Visual Basic. After installing the CTP, Visual Studio 2010 Professional and higher users will find Windows Phone project types for Visual Basic in the New Project Dialog.

Với phiên bản thử nghiệm CTP (Community Technology Preview - Phiên bản thử nghiệm công nghệ dành cho cộng đồng) mới này, các nhà phát triển Visual Basic có thể tạo ra các ứng dụng Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft đã mang lại khả năng cho các nhà phát triển Visual Basic tạo ra các ứng dụng Windows Phone 7.

Vào ngày 23 tháng 9, Microsoft đã phát hành phiên bản CTP của Microsoft Visual Basic cho Windows Phone Developer Tools. Phiên bản CTP này cho phép các nhà phát triển Visual Basic tạo ra các ứng dụng Windows Phone 7 với phiên bản chính thức của Windows Phone Developer Tools.

Trong một bài viết trên blog vào ngày 23 tháng 9,  “ Soma” Somasegar phó chủ tịch bộ phận Microsoft Developer Division cho biết:  “Bắt đầu từ ngày hôm nay, bạn có thể tải Microsoft Visual Basic CTP cho Windows Phone Developer Tools. Đây là một cột mốc quan trọng vì nó cho phép các nhà phát triển Visual Basic có thể xây dựng các ứng dụng cho Windows Phone."

Somasegar cho biết các ứng dụng được xây dựng bằng việc sử dụng CTP chạy trên cả trình giả lập và điện thoại. “Để thử CTP, bạn sẽ cần phiên bản chính thức của Windows Phone Developer Toolsvà Visual Studio 2010 Professional hoặc cao hơn. Nếu bạn không có Visual Studio 2010 Professional, bạn có thể cài đặt phiên bản dùng thử miễn phí Visual Studio Professional” .

CTP bao gồm các mẫu dự án Visual Studio 2010,mục mẫu, hỗ trợ thiết kế, hỗ trợ trình giả lập, gỡ lỗi và hỗ trợ mã IntelliSense cho Visual Basic. Sau khi cài đặt CTP, Visual Studio 2010 Professional hoặc cao hơn, người dùng sẽ thấy các kiểu dự án Windows Phone cho Visual Basic trong Hộp thoại Dự án Mới.
