This year, the world’s billionaires clocked in an aggregate net worth of $6.48 trillion, according to the Forbes Billionaires list released this month, with the usual suspects topping the list – including Bill Gates ($75 billion), Inditex founder Amancio Ortega ($67 billion) and Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett ($60.8 billion).

But if you look deeper into the numbers, you’ll find some surprises.

God is a billionaire

There is a billionaire named God. God Nisanov is the 527th richest person in the world, having made his fortune in property development building shopping malls, hotels and more mostly in Russia. Nisanov is worth about $3.5 billion, according to the Forbes Billionaires list.

The billionaire school-dropout saga is a myth

While stories of billionaires who dropped out of high school or college (specifically Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg) make plenty of headlines, the reality is that most billionaires have a bachelor’s degree or higher. Just 14% of billionaires have less than a college degree; meanwhile 52% have a bachelor’s degree, 27% a master’s degree and 7% a doctorate, the GoCompare analysis revealed.
 

Billionaires have a lot of kids

In many countries around the world, families have an average of about two children. But if you’re a billionaire, you’re likely to have a lot more. Roughly two-thirds of billionaires have at least three children versus just 5% who have none, according to GoCompare’s analysis of the 100 richest billionaires from 1996 to 2015.

While the average billionaire is roughly 67 years old, in 2016, there are more younger billionaires (66 under the age of 40, according to Forbes) than ever before. The two youngest billionaires — sisters from Norway — are just 19 (Alexandra Andresen) and 20 (Katharine Andresen), below the legal drinking age in America (lucky for them, they won’t have this problem in Norway). They became billionaires recently, when their dad, Johan, transferred to each of them a 42% ownership in the family investment firm, Ferd.
